Aaliyah Dittman
Aaliyah Dittman of Clarion is the Eileen Belanger Memorial Scholarship recipient. Aaliyah is
pursuing a degree in Political Science in addition to a Legal Studies Certificate at Pennsylvania
Western University-Clarion and plans to continue her education at Georgetown Law. This past
year, Aaliyah was the vice president of the Clarion College Democrats and will serve as its
president for the next academic year.
Brianna Fisher
Brianna Fisher of New Wilmington is enrolled at Pennsylvania Western University-Clarion in
the accelerated bachelors/master’s program while working two jobs. She is a Library and
Information Sciences major with a minor in History. With her interest in archival studies, she plans
to preserve history for future generations. Brianna is the president of the American Library
Association, a member of the PA Library Association, History Club, Phi Alpha Theta, Sigma Tau
Delta, Clarion College Democrats, and serves as student director of the Clarion Honors Program.
Gianna Girol
Gianna Girol of Pittsburgh is a student at Penn State University currently majoring in Broadcast
Journalism while minoring in Digital Media Trends and Analytics. In the future, Gianna aspires to
double minor in business. Gianna’s goal is to use her writing and on-camera skills by becoming a
news anchor or sideline reporter. PSU affords her the opportunity to practice her on-air skills
through her clubs and activities. Gianna served as a merchandise and committee chair for the
Association of Women in Sports Media.
Erin LaQuatra
Erin LaQuatra of Pittsburgh is the Marianne McManus Memorial Scholarship recipient. Erin is
pursuing a degree in Health Science at Robert Morris University. Erin knew she wanted to enter
this field when both of her grandparents were ill at the same time and Erin and her family took
turns caring for them. Erin draws political inspiration from her teachers, family and politicians. She
found herself admiring the achievements, knowledge, and strength of Hillary Clinton.
Ainsley Grace McClure
Ainsley Grace McClure of Yardley is a student at Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster
pursuing a degree in American Studies and English Creative Writing. Ainsley feels that she has
the opportunity to explore the beneficial and humane approach to immigration since Lancaster is
a known refugee city. Ainsley aspires to obtain a master’s degree in Library and Information
Sciences to embark on a career path dedicated to archival research and its contribution to
government libraries.
Kathryn N. Pabon
Kathryn N. Pabon of East Stroudsburg is a student at East Stroudsburg University majoring in
Communications with a concentration in Broadcast Journalism and Public Communication
Advocacy. While working full time, she is minoring in Political Science and Digital Media
Technologies. She is a writer for the Stroud Courier ESU newspaper, a member of the radio station
W.E.S.S. at ESU, a member of the Political Science Organization, and an officer in the Public
Relations Student Society of America.
